In this blog, we will describe how surrogacy process can be helpful for childless Indian couples so as to have a baby and enjoy the joy of parenthood.

What is Surrogacy?

Surrogacy is the process in which the mother and father’s genetic material is placed in another woman’s womb (surrogate) who carries and gives birth therefore essentially it is their baby, genetically and is nurtured by the surrogate’s womb who handover the baby to the rightful parents. In other words, it is a method of assisted reproduction carried out by the doctors through a procedure called in vitro fertilization wherein an embryo created from gametes of both the parents, implanted into the uterus of surrogate, and she carries the baby to term. A surrogate mother is compensated to become pregnant for giving birth to a child to whom she has no genetic link. Thus the baby born to a surrogate mother is genetically related to the biological parents.
